  • If you choose to explore the city, or got there randomly, this place is worth a visit. At least for the sake of the unusual Chamomile and photos with it) but it is better, of course, learn the history of this place.

  • I suggest to visit this martime museum. Even ships inside and large exhibition of Finnish martime history. I found this very interesting place.  more »

  • An interesting and versatile museum, one of the best in Turku. A lot of information about the history of shipwreck. The entry ticket paid 9 euro, worth the money. Also available is a two-day bracelet, which also has a museum on the ship. The museum also has a nice restaurant.
  • Very impressive. A large amount of the exhibits were hands on, which I found to be unique and a big bonus to the museum. The museum covers all aspects of Finnish maritime history and incorporates technology very well. There are also around 5 or 6 ships that you can go on and look through as part of the museum.
  • This is my first maritime museum that I visited and I was impressed. You can find two tall sail ships, four naval ships and several smaller vessels, ranging from a steam harbour tugboat to a police boat. There are indoor presentation about the Finnish maritime history, boat presentations and boat shop also. Also, the first gunship, Karjala (see photos), built in 1918 in Turku. The museum ships are open during the summer months only.
  • A very impressive maritime museum. Two large indoor exhibitions with old wooden leisure boats, objects, photos and information of shipbuilding, military and commercial exhibition areas etc... Outside there is several navy and civillian museum ships, you can visit. If you tour all exhibitions and ships, it takes easily 4-6 hours. The museus has a large parking area, a restaurant, small shop. The nearest bus stop is a few meters from the door. On a nice day you can walk from the city centre by the river. Guest harbour is a few hundred meters away. Also very short distance from the cruise ship harbour.
  • Visited this museum more than once and it is well worth it. Especially interesting are the different vessels anchored to the Aurajoki shore.
