Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Fortress of Suomenlinna and Helsinki Cathedral will appeal to history buffs. Take a break from the city and head to Aurinkolahti Beach and Korkeasaari Zoo. Get out of town with these interesting Helsinki side-trips: Valkmusa National Park (in Siltakyla) and Nuuksio National Park (in Espoo). There's much more to do: wander the streets of Ullanlinna, admire the landmark architecture of Rock Church, take in the spiritual surroundings of Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali), and enjoy the sand and surf at Hietaranta Beach.

Sitting at the mouth of the Aura River, Turku is one of Finland's quaintest and most historically rich towns.
On the 8th (Fri), stroll through Kurjenrahka National Park, take in the spiritual surroundings of Turku Cathedral, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Ispoinen Beach and Sauna. On the 9th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: kick back and relax at Vepsa Island and then step into the grandiose world of Turku Castle.
