Helsinki Ice Hall is an indoor arena located in Helsinki, Finland. It is capable of holding 8,200 people.
It is the home arena for HIFK of the SM-liiga. It is sometimes called "Nordis" or "Petoluola", Finnish for "The beast cave", referring to the 2nd logo of HIFK: a red panther. Helsinki Ice Hall used to be the main arena for all important ice sports events, as well as indoor arena concerts, but after the construction of HK Areena and Hartwall Areena, many events take place in the newer arenas.
Nevertheless the Helsinki Ice Hall still remains an active arena for concerts, conferences, expos and sports events. During the 2016 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, games were played there.

  • The old barn was a beauty for catching the HIFK game. A nice and cozy atmosphere with good hockey action. A must-see for the hockey fan in Helsinki!  more »

  • The old Ice Hall has a kind of charm to it, it's more about the people and the game than the venue, with seating being cramped and basic but comfortable enough. The venues refreshment offering works well enough with lineups being an expected reality at such locations but everyone getting what they need in a decent amount of time. Washrooms are also functional and basic but work fine with tolerable lines. This is a great place for the atmosphere and entertainment and is popular with families and people of all ages.
  • The stairs are steep and a bit dangerous in the game watching area. Otherwise I think it’s good. Nice location too. 👍🏻
