Host of the 1952 Olympics, Olympic Stadium (Olympiastadion) now supports sporting events, concerts, and Finland's national soccer team. Originally built for the 1940 Olympics, which were cancelled because of World War II, this stadium was completed in 1938. The arena can hold more than 40,000 people at a time, making it the largest in Finland. Come to watch a soccer match or see a live performance. Tour the arena and walk through exhibits at the Sports Museum of Finland. Then make your way to the top of the stadium tower for views of Helsinki. You can even stay in a youth hostel located inside the stadium. Before you head to Helsinki, plan trip itinerary details with our user-friendly Helsinki trip maker website, to make sure you see all that Helsinki has to offer, including Olympic Stadium (Olympiastadion).

  • Undergoing major refurbishment summer of 2019. Will be good when finished. Currently, a building site and inaccessible.
  • Historic Place. Build for Olympic games that took place here in 1952. Did you know that the Olympic Games was supposed be held here few years earlier but were cancelled because of the war? :)
