  • Our tour operator changed the time of our visit without warning and polar lights went out of their way to make sure we didn't miss out. "It's your holiday and we love our job" is what we were told. Wagon, sled and horseback riding through arctic winter forests is a special experience. Horseback through winding snowy forests at night was an experience we won't forget, guides and centre staff were brilliant and so friendly. If we are lucky enough to return to Finland again, this will be a must repeat experience, but for longer next time.
  • Was what you expect for a husky trip however ethically it felt wrong. The dogs are caged or chained up and there didn't seem to be much space for them. Some of the dog houses had a lot of wee frozen up them which was more than a days worth and there was a lot of excrement. I understand it mush be difficult to keep on top of cleaning up after 130ish dogs. I did ask about the dogs being walked/given freedom and was told they do have days off and a run out area. Some dogs appeared stressed and some look scared and cowered back when the man walked past them. We have been to other husky places and we didn't get the same feeling. They have a lot of dogs and it didn't look like they had too many staff which may be the reason it didn't feel like the dogs were 'pets' rather than a tourist thing for money.
