Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Kick off your visit on the 24th (Fri): take in the spiritual surroundings of Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali), take in the architecture and atmosphere at Temppeliaukio Church, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Kamppi Chapel of Silence. Here are some ideas for day two: make a trip to Senate Square, brush up on your military savvy at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna, and then pause for some serene contemplation at Helsinki Cathedral.
