Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Explore hidden gems such as Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum and Hakaniemi Market. Fortress of Suomenlinna and Ullanlinna are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Istanbul, Turkey to Helsinki is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and ferry; or drive. Expect slightly colder temperatures when traveling from Istanbul in May; daily highs in Helsinki reach 18°C and lows reach 7°C. Start off your visit on the 2nd (Sat): step into the grandiose world of Jan Karlsgården Outdoor museum Jan Karlsgården, step off the mainland to explore Kobba Klintar, then brush up on your military savvy at Aland Maritime Museum, and finally examine the collection at Museumship Pommern.

You can fly from Helsinki to Mariehamn in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and flight; or do a combination of train and ferry. In June, plan for daily highs up to 19°C, and evening lows to 10°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 3rd (Sun) early enough to travel to Turku.

Sitting at the mouth of the Aura River, Turku is one of Finland's quaintest and most historically rich towns.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Turku Castle and Kauppakeskus Mylly. Let the collections at Louhisaari Manor and Luostarinmaki Handicrafts Museum capture your imagination. There's still lots to do: step off the mainland to explore Vepsa Island, take in the spiritual surroundings of Turku Cathedral, admire the striking features of St Henry's Ecumenical Art Chappel, and enjoy the sand and surf at Ispoinen Beach and Sauna.

Finland's third largest city, Tampere boasts an array of cultural offerings and a lively music scene.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Wed): see the interesting displays at Moomin Museum, see the interesting displays at Vapriikin Museokeskus, then stroll through Rauhaniemi Beach, and finally stop by Tallipihan Suklaapuoti. On the 7th (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: look for gifts at Ideapark, then take in the pleasant sights at Visavuori, and then pause for some serene contemplation at Pyhan Birgitan kirkko.
