An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Step out of Rovaniemi to go to Ranua and see Ranua Zoo, which is approximately 1 hour away. There's lots more to do: take an in-depth tour of Arktikum, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Rovaniemi Church, engage your brain at Science Centre Pilke, and have fun at Santa Claus Office.
