Luosto

Nestled among vast forests and fells, Luosto represents a small idyllic resort village set on the edge of Pyha-Luosto National Park.
Start off your visit on the 15th (Tue): look for all kinds of wild species at Kopara Reindeer Park, go deep underground at Amethyst Mine Lapland, and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of Sodankyla. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 16th (Wed): explore the striking landscape of Pyha-Luosto National Park.

Traveling by car from Levi to Luosto takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In January, plan for daily highs up to 12°F, and evening lows to -2°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Rovaniemi.

Rovaniemi

Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Start off your visit on the 17th (Thu): get some fabulous bargains at Marttiini Store Old Factory, then see exotic creatures in open habitats at a safari tour, then take an in-depth tour of Arktikum, and finally buy something for everyone on your list at Arctic Circle Mall. Keep things going the next day: get in on the family fun at SantaPark - the Home Cavern of Santa Claus, enjoy some diversion at Santa Claus Office, and then make a trip to Santa Claus Village.

Traveling by car from Luosto to Rovaniemi takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Traveling from Luosto in January, plan for somewhat warmer nights in Rovaniemi, with lows around 6°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 19th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Kemi.

Kemi is a town and municipality of Finland. On the 19th (Sat), admire the striking features of Kemi Church, then visit Icebreaker Sampo, then take an in-depth tour of The Provincial Museum Of Tornio Valley, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Tornio Church.
