Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
Explore Saariselka's surroundings by going to Inari (Inari Reindeer Farm, Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, &more). There's still lots to do: get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour, stop by Hippupuoti Gift Shop, fly down the slopes at Saariselka Ski & Sport Resort, and explore the striking landscape of Urho Kekkonen National Park.

Drive from Rovaniemi to Saariselka in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In March, daytime highs in Saariselka are -1°C, while nighttime lows are -12°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel to Levi.

Levi

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
Get out of town with these interesting Levi side-trips: Seven Fells Up (in Akaslompolo) and Lapland Hotels SnowVillage (in Kittila). Spend the 7th (Mon) on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort.
