Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Arktikum and Santa's House of Snowmobiles are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get outdoors at Ranua Zoo and Nature & Wildlife Tours. There's much more to do: examine the collection at Christmas House Santa, get engrossed in the history at Rovaniemi Local History Museum, admire the masterpieces at Korundi House of Culture, and engage your brain at Pilke Science Centre.

Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. On the 20th (Thu), see the interesting displays at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, tour the pleasant surroundings at Juutua Nature Trail, and then pause for some serene contemplation at Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church.
