An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Get outdoors at Ounasvaaran Hiihtokeskus Oy and Napapiirin Porofarmi. Forestry Museum of Lapland and Rovaniemi Local History Museum will appeal to museum buffs. And it doesn't end there: examine the collection at Santa's House of Snowmobiles, stop by LAURI Handicraft Shop & Atelier, get your bearings at Rovaniemi City Library, and let little ones run wild at Angry Birds Park.

Helsinki to Rovaniemi is an approximately 3-hour flight. You can also take a train; or drive. Prepare for slightly colder weather when traveling from Helsinki in December: high temperatures in Rovaniemi hover around -6°C and lows are around -13°C. Inari

Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church and Saint Tryphon Pechenga Orthodox Church. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Reindeer Farm Petri Mattus and Saariselka Reindeer Farm.
