Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
Kick off your visit on the 19th (Sat): get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour, then look for gifts at Hippupuoti Gift Shop, then see the interesting displays at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel. Here are some ideas for day two: fly down the slopes at Saariselka Ski & Sport Resort and then get in on the family fun at Angry Birds Activity Park.

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Kick off your visit on the 21st (Mon): get to know the resident critters at Ranua Zoo, pause for some serene contemplation at Rovaniemi Church, then stop by LAURI Handicraft Shop & Atelier, and finally don't miss a visit to Lordi's Square. On the 22nd (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: get engrossed in the history at Arktikum, examine the collection at Christmas House Santa, then see Santa Claus Office, and finally make a trip to Santa Claus Village.
