An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Rovaniemi Church and German Soldier s Cemetery. Escape the urban bustle at Ranua Zoo and Syvasenvaara Fell. When in Rovaniemi, make a side trip to see Pyha-Luosto National Park in Pyhatunturi, approximately Pyhatunturi away. The adventure continues: take an in-depth tour of Arktikum, don't miss a visit to Santa Claus Village, and see Santa Claus Office.

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
Escape the urban bustle at Levi Ski Resort and Yllas Ski Resort. Get some historical perspective at Keimioniemi Fishing Cabins and Taatsin seita. Step out of Levi to go to Muonio and see Pallas-Yllastunturi National Park, which is approximately 58 minutes away. There's still lots to do: wander the streets of Ounasjoki - River for activities.

You can drive from Rovaniemi to Levi in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In July, daytime highs in Levi are 22°C, while nighttime lows are 11°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 9th (Thu) so you can travel to Saariselka.

Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
Visit Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church and Saint Tryphon Pechenga Orthodox Church for their historical value. Get in touch with nature at Urho Kekkonen National Park and Lake Inari. Change things up with a short trip to Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center in Inari (about 58 minutes away). There's more to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel and stop by Hippupuoti Gift Shop.
