Helsinki is known for historic sites, museums, and shopping. Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
Step out of Levi with an excursion to Safartica Yllas in Yllasjarvi--about 48 minutes away. Spend the 17th (Fri) on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort. There's still lots to do: join the crowd at Icekarting Levi, stop by Elan Ski Shop & Rental, and make a trip to Giewont Husky Adventures.

You can fly from Helsinki to Levi in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Traveling from Helsinki in December, things will get a bit cooler in Levi: highs are around -6°C and lows about -15°C. An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
