Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Get some historical perspective at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Temppeliaukio Church. Museum-lovers will appreciate Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma and Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum. Step out of Helsinki to go to Janakkala and see Laurinmaki Crofter's Museum, which is approximately 1h 30 min away. Sitting at the mouth of the Aura River, Turku is one of Finland's quaintest and most historically rich towns.
Start off your visit on the 27th (Fri): tour the pleasant surroundings at Ispoinen Beach and Sauna, then explore the historical opulence of Turku Castle, then don't miss a visit to Louhisaari Manor, and finally take an in-depth tour of Ett Hem Museum. Finland's third largest city, Tampere boasts an array of cultural offerings and a lively music scene.
Kick off your visit on the 29th (Sun): see the interesting displays at Vapriikin Museokeskus, stroll through Rauhaniemi Beach, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Tampereen Tuomiokirkko, and finally contemplate the long history of Amuri Museum of Workers' Housing. An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
On the 31st (Tue), take in the architecture and atmosphere at Rovaniemi Church, then experience rural life at Napapiirin Porofarmi, then examine the collection at Santa's House of Snowmobiles, and finally get engrossed in the history at Arktikum.
