An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.

Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum and Cathedral of Porvoo. Your inner history buff will appreciate Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Johannes Church. Get out of town with these interesting Helsinki side-trips: Paavolan Tammi (in Lohjan Island) and Nuuksio National Park (in Espoo). There's lots more to do: admire the striking features of Temppeliaukion Church, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Helsinki Cathedral, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali), and steep yourself in history at The Aalto House.
