Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Temppeliaukio Church. Step off the beaten path and head to Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum and Cathedral of Porvoo. When in Helsinki, make a side trip to see Sapokka Water Garden in Kotka, approximately 1h 55 min away. There's still lots to do: glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, admire the masterpieces at Kansallisgalleria, take in the spiritual surroundings of Kamppi Chapel of Silence, and stop by OMA Puoti.

Sitting at the mouth of the Aura River, Turku is one of Finland's quaintest and most historically rich towns.
Start off your visit on the 18th (Tue): take a stroll through Naantali Old Town, grab your bike and head to Bike Rental - by Carfield, then explore the galleries of Turku Castle, and finally see the interesting displays at Luostarinmaen Kasityolaismuseo. On your second day here, take an in-depth tour of Forum Marinum Maritime Centre, then delve into the distant past at Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova, and then gain insight at Turku Cathedral.

Getting from Helsinki to Turku by car takes about 2 hours. Other options: take a train; or take a bus. August in Turku sees daily highs of 68°F and lows of 51°F at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 19th (Wed) so you can catch the train to Tampere.

Start off your visit on the 20th (Thu): test your problem-solving skills at popular escape rooms, identify plant and animal life at Hatanpaa Arboretum, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Tampereen Tuomiokirkko, and finally examine the collection at Vapriikin Museokeskus.
