Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Start off your visit on the 26th (Thu): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kamppi Chapel of Silence, admire the striking features of Helsinki Central Railway Station, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Helsinki Cathedral, and finally get to know the fascinating history of The Esplanadi Park. On the 27th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: indulge in some personalized pampering at some of the best spas, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali), and then wander the streets of Katajanokka.

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Bring the kids along to Santa Claus Village and LAURI Handicraft Shop & Atelier. Get a sense of the local culture at Arktikum and Pilke Science Centre. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Rovaniemi: Samiland (in Sirkka), Ranua Zoo (in Ranua) and Pyha-Luosto National Park (in Pyhatunturi). There's lots more to do: see Santa Claus Office, see the interesting displays at Christmas House Santa, pause for some serene contemplation at Rovaniemi Church, and get in on the family fun at Moomin Snowcastle.
