Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Explore Rovaniemi's surroundings by going to Pyhatunturi (in Pelkosenniemi) and Amethyst Mine Lapland (in Luosto). There's still lots to do: make a trip to Santa Claus Village, engage your brain at Pilke Science Centre, see exotic creatures in open habitats at a safari tour, and find something for the whole family at SantaPark - the Home Cavern of Santa Claus.

Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
On the 13th (Mon), see the interesting displays at Gold Prospector Museum, stop by Hippupuoti Gift Shop, and then hit the slopes at Saariselka Ski & Sport Resort.
