An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.

Helsinki to Rovaniemi is an approximately 3-hour flight. You can also take a train; or drive. Prepare for a bit cooler weather when traveling from Helsinki in March: high temperatures in Rovaniemi hover around -1°C and lows are around -9°C. Levi

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
Step out of Levi with an excursion to Lapland Hotels SnowVillage in Kittila--about 46 minutes away. Spend the 26th (Fri) on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort. There's still lots to do: join the crowd at Icekarting Levi, tour the pleasant surroundings at Yllas Ski Resort, look for gifts at Elan Ski Shop & Rental, and make a trip to Giewont Husky Adventures.

Getting from Rovaniemi to Levi by car takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: take a bus. In March, daytime highs in Levi are 0°C, while nighttime lows are -10°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 28th (Sun) early enough to go by car to Saariselka.

Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
Get out of town with these interesting Saariselka side-trips: Inari (Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church, Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, &more). There's much more to do: get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour, stop by Hippupuoti Gift Shop, hike along Urho Kekkonen National Park, and pause for some serene contemplation at Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel.
