An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Step off the beaten path and head to German Soldier s Cemetery and LAURI Handicraft Shop & Atelier. Your inner history buff will appreciate Kemi Church and Rovaniemi Church. When in Rovaniemi, make a side trip to see Sampo Icebreaker in Kemi, approximately Kemi away. There's still lots to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Ounasvaaran Hiihtokeskus Oy, identify plant and animal life at Feelapland, make a trip to Lordi's Square, and see Santa Claus Office.
