Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Step out of the city life by going to Nature & Wildlife Tours and Arctic Expedition. Get a sense of the local culture at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Temppeliaukio Church. Take a break from Helsinki with a short trip to Sipoonkorven Kansallispuisto in Vantaa, about 30 minutes away. There's still lots to do: admire the masterpieces at Kansallisgalleria, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Helsinki Cathedral, look for all kinds of wild species at Laajalahti Nature Reserve, and get outside with King's Road.

If you are flying in from United Kingdom, the closest major aiports are Helsinki Vantaa Airport, Turku Airport and Tampere-Pirkkala Airport. In April, plan for daily highs up to 9°C, and evening lows to 0°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Tue) early enough to drive to Porvoo.

Porvoo

Porvoo, one of Finland's oldest and prettiest towns, boasts cobbled streets, famous red-brick warehouses, and a charming river.
Kick off your visit on the 17th (Wed): contemplate the long history of The Runeberg Home, pause for some serene contemplation at Loviisan kirkko, then explore the striking landscape at Hiidenkirnut, and finally make a trip to Söderskärin majakka. Keep things going the next day: contemplate the long history of Castle Hill, take a stroll around Taidetehdas - Culture and Congress Center, then walk around Runeberg Park, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedral of Porvoo, and finally make a trip to Porvoo Old Town.

Sitting at the mouth of the Aura River, Turku is one of Finland's quaintest and most historically rich towns.
