Although predominately an industrial town, Imatra boasts a long and impressive history of tourism, largely owing to its fierce rapids, considered to have been Finland's first ever tourist attraction.
On the 9th (Sat), contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Church of St. Nicholas, then stroll through Lempukka Beach, then head off the coast to Lammassaari Island, and finally take in the dramatic scenery at Imatra Waterfall. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 10th (Sun): get outside with Atreenalin Seikkailupuistot, explore the activities along Saimaa Canal, then pause for some serene contemplation at Joutsenon kirkko, and finally hike along Malonsaari.
