Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Do your shopping at Old Market Hall and Kamppi Shopping Centre. Popular historic sites such as Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Kamppi Chapel of Silence are in your itinerary. Step out of Helsinki with an excursion to Nuuksio National Park in Espoo--about 48 minutes away. There's lots more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Temppeliaukio Church, pause for some serene contemplation at Helsinki Cathedral, wander the streets of Katajanokka, and stop by Artisaani.

Sitting at the mouth of the Aura River, Turku is one of Finland's quaintest and most historically rich towns.
Kick off your visit on the 6th (Sun): view the masterpieces at Turun Taidehalli, then enjoy the sand and surf at Ispoinen Beach and Sauna, and then buy something for everyone on your list at Kauppakeskus Mylly. Finland's third largest city, Tampere boasts an array of cultural offerings and a lively music scene.

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
On the 10th (Thu), grab your bike and head to Levi Ski Resort. Keep things going the next day: fly down the slopes at Kids' Land, get all the equipment you need at Elan Ski Shop & Rental, then bet on your favorite at Icekarting Levi, and finally take a stroll through Ounasjoki - River for activities.

Fly from Tampere to Levi in 5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and bus; or drive. In January, Levi is little chillier than Tampere - with highs of -11°C and lows of -21°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Fri) early enough to drive to Rovaniemi.

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Start off your visit on the 12th (Sat): identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas, look for gifts at LAURI Handicraft Shop & Atelier, then get engrossed in the history at Arktikum, and finally make a trip to Lordi's Square.
