Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Go for a jaunt from Helsinki to Espoo to see Nuuksio National Park about 48 minutes away. There's still lots to do: learn about all things military at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna, admire the masterpieces at Kansallisgalleria, make a trip to Senate Square, and admire the striking features of Helsinki Central Railway Station.

Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Start off your visit on the 23rd (Thu): have fun at Santa Claus Office, make a trip to Santa Claus Village, and then Head underground at Syvasenvaara Fell. Keep things going the next day: get engrossed in the history at Arktikum and then identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas.

You can fly from Helsinki to Rovaniemi in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. Inari

Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Step out of Inari to go to Saariselka and see Urho Kekkonen National Park, which is approximately 1h 45 min away. There's much more to do: examine the collection at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church, head outdoors with Outdoor Activities, and experience rural life at Tuula's Reindeer.
