Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
Explore hidden gems such as Saariselka Ski & Sport Resort and Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center. Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church and Saint Tryphon Pechenga Orthodox Church will appeal to history buffs. When in Saariselka, make a side trip to see Juutua Nature Trail in Inari, approximately Inari away. Next up on the itinerary: hit the slopes at Urho Kekkonen National Park, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel, look for all kinds of wild species at Wildlife Areas, and explore the wealth of natural beauty at Lemmenjoki National Park.

For reviews, maps, other places to visit, and more tourist information, go to the Saariselka trip maker website.

Frankfurt, Germany to Saariselka is an approximately 12.5- hour flight. You can also drive. You'll lose 1 hour traveling from Frankfurt to Saariselka due to the time zone difference. Plan for colder temperatures traveling from Frankfurt in February, with highs in Saariselka at 22°F and lows at 9°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Sat) to allow enough time to travel to Levi.

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Levi Ski Resort and Seven Fells Up. Step out of the city life by going to Santa"s Cottage & Pet Farm and Jemes Sport. Go for a jaunt from Levi to Sodankyla to see Church of Sodankyla about 1h 35 min away. It doesn't end there: bet on your favorite at Icekarting Levi and don't miss a visit to Giewont Husky Adventures.
