Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Kick off your visit on the 2nd (Sat): surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour and then make a trip to Santa Claus Village. Keep things going the next day: look for gifts at LAURI Handicraft Shop & Atelier, look for all kinds of wild species at Wildlife Areas, then enjoy some diversion at Santa Claus Office, and finally take an in-depth tour of Arktikum.

On the 4th (Mon), pause for some serene contemplation at Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church, then trek along Juutua Nature Trail, and then examine the collection at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center.

On the shores of the country's largest lake system, Lappeenrata serves as the economic and cultural center of southeast Finland.
Take a break from the city and head to Repovesi National Park and Lammassaari Island. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Niivermaki Nature Conservation Area and Hevoshaan Arboretum. The adventure continues: take in the dramatic scenery at Imatra Waterfall, pause for some serene contemplation at Nuijamaa Church, and step into the grandiose world of Sandcastle Lappeenranta.

Do a combination of flight and train from Inari to Lappeenranta in 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car, flight, and train; or drive. Traveling from Inari in November, expect Lappeenranta to be somewhat warmer, temps between 3°C and -1°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Helsinki.

Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Visiting Arboretum Mustila and Teijo National Park will get you outdoors. Step off the beaten path and head to Katajanokka and Nuuksio National Park.
