Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Helsinki Cathedral. Visiting Aurinkolahti Beach and Hietaranta Beach will get you outdoors. There's lots more to do: visit Katajanokka, take in the spiritual surroundings of Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali), take a stroll through Ullanlinna, and get to know the resident critters at Korkeasaaren Elaintarha.

Lisbon, Portugal to Helsinki is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of car and ferry. Sitting at the mouth of the Aura River, Turku is one of Finland's quaintest and most historically rich towns.
On the 17th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: step into the grandiose world of Turku Castle, get a new perspective on nature at Turku Biological Museum, then see the interesting displays at Luostarinmaen Kasityolaismuseo, and finally get engrossed in the history at Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova.
