Savonlinna

The picturesque town of Savonlinna sits on two islands surrounded by shimmering lakes and lush greenery.
Olavinlinna Castle and Lusto - The Finnish Forest Museum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Family-friendly places like Visulahti and Kitee Zoo will thrill your kids. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Savonlinna: Parikkala (Siikalahti Wetland & The Parikkala Sculpture Park). An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Arktikum and Pilke Science Centre. Kids will enjoy Santa Claus Village and SantaPark - the Home Cavern of Santa Claus. Take a break from Rovaniemi with a short trip to Maupertuis Memorial in Pello, about 1h 30 min away.
