Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Take a break from the city and head to Aurinkolahti Beach and Hietaranta Beach. Visit Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Temppeliaukio Church for their historical value. Sitting at the mouth of the Aura River, Turku is one of Finland's quaintest and most historically rich towns.
Get some historical perspective at Turku Castle and Ruukin kehräämö ja puoti Oy. Kids will appreciate attractions like Turku Cathedral and Bellevue Beach. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Turku: Kurjenrahka National Park (in Poytya) and Teijo National Park (in Pernio). There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Vepsa Island, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Archangel Michael's church, admire the landmark architecture of Kuusisto Manor, and stay fit while traveling at Ispoinen Beach and Sauna.

Porvoo, one of Finland's oldest and prettiest towns, boasts cobbled streets, famous red-brick warehouses, and a charming river.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Arboretum Mustila and Cathedral of Porvoo. Get outdoors at Hiidenvuori and Lehman. Change things up with these side-trips from Porvoo: Kotka (Santalahti Nature Trail & Haapasaari Island) and Valkmusa National Park (in Siltakyla).
