Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Step out of Inari with an excursion to Skolt Sami Heritage House in Sevettijarvi--about 1h 30 min away. Spend the 17th (Tue) exploring nature at Lemmenjoki National Park. There's much more to do: examine the collection at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Saint Tryphon Pechenga Orthodox Church, and explore the venue of The Sami Cultural Centre Sajos.

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like SantaPark - the Home Cavern of Santa Claus and Pilke Science Centre. Next up on the itinerary: get engrossed in the history at Arktikum, pause for some serene contemplation at Rovaniemi Church, make a trip to Lordi's Square, and see Santa Claus Office.

Drive from Saariselka to Rovaniemi in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In December in Rovaniemi, expect temperatures between -6°C during the day and -13°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 26th (Thu) to allow enough time to travel back home.
