Espoo is the second largest city and municipality in Finland. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Turku Castle and Lohjan Pyhan Laurin Kirkko the Church of St Lawrence Lohja. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Suomen Lasimuseo (The Finnish Glass Museum) and Gallen-Kallela Museum. Venture out of the city with trips to Hyvinkaa (The Finnish Railway Museum & Hyvinkään kaupunginmuseo), Riihimaki Art Museum (in Riihimaki) and Turku (Kylamaki Village of Living History, Turku Biological Museum, & more). There's much more to do: step off the mainland to explore Stora Herro Island, identify plant and animal life at Laajalahti Nature Reserve, see the interesting displays at Tampere City Library, Metso, and contemplate the long history of Birthplace of Jean Sibelius.

If you are flying in from Sweden, the closest major airport is Helsinki Vantaa Airport. June in Espoo sees daily highs of 22°C and lows of 11°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
