Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum and Finnish Aviation Museum. Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Helsinki Cathedral are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Change things up with a short trip to Inkoon kirkko in Inkoo (about 52 minutes away). There's lots more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Temppeliaukio Church, steep yourself in history at Mannerheim Museum, learn more about the world around you at Natural History Museum (Luonnontieteellinen Museo), and explore the world behind art at Design Museum.

Stockholm, Sweden to Helsinki is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of ferry and train; or do a combination of ferry and bus. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Stockholm to Helsinki. In June, daily temperatures in Helsinki can reach 21°C, while at night they dip to 11°C. Kotka

Kotka is a city and municipality of Finland.Kotka is located on the coast of the Gulf of Finland at the mouth of Kymi River and it is part of the Kymenlaakso region in southern Finland. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Lappeenranta Fortress and Maritime Centre Vellamo. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Salpa Line Museum and St. John's Church. Change things up with these side-trips from Kotka: Marian Kirkko (in Hamina), Church of Ruotsinpyhtaa (in Ruotsinpyhtaa) and Lappeenranta (Sandcastle Lappeenranta & Saimaa Canal).
