Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Helsinki Cathedral. Change things up with a short trip to Sipoonkorven Kansallispuisto in Vantaa (about 30 minutes away). There's much more to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Temppeliaukio Church, surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour, explore the galleries of Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum, and look for all kinds of wild species at Dive Finland Oy.

Paris, France to Helsinki is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train, bus, and ferry. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Paris to Helsinki. Prepare for a bit cooler weather when traveling from Paris in July: high temperatures in Helsinki hover around 25°C and lows are around 15°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 7th (Wed) so you can catch the flight to Oulu.

Kouvola is a town and municipality in southeastern Finland. Get out of town with these interesting Kouvola side-trips: Hiidenvuori (in Iitti) and Riverside Park (in Kotka).
