Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Start off your visit on the 17th (Mon): admire the masterpieces at Kansallisgalleria, take a stroll through Katajanokka, then wander the streets of Ullanlinna, then steep yourself in history at Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum, and finally contemplate the long history of Pohjolan toimitalo. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: get a new perspective on nature at Natural History Museum (Luonnontieteellinen Museo), then test your problem-solving skills at popular escape rooms, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedral of Porvoo, and finally make a trip to Porvoo Old Town.

Ottawa, Canada to Helsinki is an approximately 14-hour combination of train and flight. You can also fly; or do a combination of flight and ferry. Traveling from Ottawa to Helsinki, you'll lose 7 hours due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Ottawa in June, expect Helsinki to be little chillier, temps between 21°C and 11°C. Sitting at the mouth of the Aura River, Turku is one of Finland's quaintest and most historically rich towns.
On the 19th (Wed), take a stroll through Naantali Old Town, then explore the historical opulence of Turku Castle, then admire the masterpieces at Ett Hem Museum, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Turku Cathedral. Here are some ideas for day two: get lost in a book at Turku City Library, explore the galleries of Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova, then see the interesting displays at Luostarinmaki Handicrafts Museum, and finally kick back and relax at Ispoinen Beach and Sauna.

Finland's third largest city, Tampere boasts an array of cultural offerings and a lively music scene.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Seitsemisen Kansallispuisto and Pyynikki Park and Observation Tower. Do some cultural sightseeing at Vapriikin Museokeskus and Emil Aaltosen Museo. There's much more to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Hatanpaa Arboretum, enjoy the sand and surf at Riihiniemen Uimaranta, take in the spiritual surroundings of Tampere Cathedral, and soothe aching muscles at some of the top local wellness centers.

Take a train from Turku to Tampere in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of flight and train. In June in Tampere, expect temperatures between 20°C during the day and 9°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Sun) early enough to travel to Inari.

Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Start off your visit on the 24th (Mon): surround yourself with nature on Reindeer Farm Petri Mattus, then see the interesting displays at Siida, and then pause for some serene contemplation at Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church.

Kotka is a city and municipality of Finland.Kotka is located on the coast of the Gulf of Finland at the mouth of Kymi River and it is part of the Kymenlaakso region in southern Finland. Get a sense of the local culture at Linden Esplanade and Pihamaa Estate & Winery. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Arboretum Mustila and Riverside Park. Explore Kotka's surroundings by going to Hiidenvuori (in Iitti), Salpa Line Museum (in Miehikkala) and Niivermaki Nature Conservation Area (in Kouvola). And it doesn't end there: brush up on your military savvy at Bunker Museum, admire the striking features of Hamina Fortress, step off the mainland to explore Varissaari - Fort Elisabeth, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Saint Peter and Saint Paul Cathedral.
