An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Kick off your visit on the 25th (Tue): stop by Your Piece Of Finland, take an exotic tour of a safari tour, see Santa Claus Office, then see where the action happens at Lappi Areena, and finally get engrossed in the history at Arktikum. Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Take a break from the city and head to Aurlahti Beach and Aurinkolahti Beach. Step out of Helsinki with an excursion to Nuuksio National Park in Espoo--about 48 minutes away. Pack the 2nd (Wed) with family-friendly diversions at Linnanmaki Amusement Park. There's lots more to do: brush up on your military savvy at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna, make a trip to Senate Square, wander the streets of Ullanlinna, and admire the striking features of Temppeliaukio Church.
