An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Get outdoors at Safaris and Kopara Reindeer Park. Get some historical perspective at Church of Sodankyla and Rovaniemi Church. Go for a jaunt from Rovaniemi to Pyhatunturi to see Pyha-Luosto National Park about 1h 35 min away. There's still lots to do: hit the slopes at Ounasvaaran Hiihtokeskus Oy, don't miss a visit to Santa Claus Office, get engrossed in the history at Arktikum, and explore the different monuments and memorials at German Soldier s Cemetery.
