Inari

Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Escape the urban bustle at Urho Kekkonen National Park and Nature & Wildlife Tours. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church and Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel. Step out of Inari to go to Saariselka and see Hippupuoti Gift Shop, which is approximately 1 hour away. There's much more to do: see the interesting displays at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, stroll through Juutua Nature Trail, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Saint Tryphon Pechenga Orthodox Church, and get outside with Lake Inari.

Helsinki to Inari is an approximately 3-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect a bit cooler temperatures when traveling from Helsinki in July; daily highs in Inari reach 20°C and lows reach 11°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 15th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Levi.

Levi

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Keimioniemi Fishing Cabins and Taatsin seita. Visiting Levi Ski Resort and Yllas Ski Resort will get you outdoors. When in Levi, make a side trip to see Pallas-Yllastunturi National Park in Muonio, approximately Muonio away.

Fly from Inari to Levi in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus; or take a bus. In July, daily temperatures in Levi can reach 22°C, while at night they dip to 11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Sun) to allow time to travel to Pyhatunturi.

Pyhatunturi

Rovaniemi

Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Get some historical perspective at Rovaniemi Church and Tornio Church. Visiting Ranua Zoo and Syvasenvaara Fell will get you outdoors. Venture out of the city with trips to Kotielainpuisto Arkadia (in Simo) and Kemi Church (in Kemi). There's still lots to do: take an in-depth tour of Arktikum, examine the collection at Christmas House Santa, make a trip to Lordi's Square, and engage your brain at Science Centre Pilke.
