Though technically its own city, Vantaa is considered by many to be a Helsinki suburb, and it is where most visitors land when they fly to Finland.
Maritime Centre Vellamo and Laurinmaki Crofter's Museum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get outdoors at Lehman and Arboretum Mustila. Explore Vantaa's surroundings by going to Hiidenvuori (in Iitti), Porvoo (Cathedral of Porvoo, Porvoo Old Town, &more) and Hame Castle (in Hameenlinna). Spend the 4th (Thu) exploring nature at Sipoonkorven Kansallispuisto. There's more to do: get engrossed in the history at Finnish Aviation Museum and visit Linden Esplanade.
