Your day by day itinerary now includes Hakaniemi Market. On the 13th (Sun), take in the architecture and atmosphere at Helsinki Cathedral, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali), then learn about all things military at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna, and finally explore the galleries of Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum. An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.

Start off your visit on the 17th (Thu): make a trip to Santa Claus Village, then fly down the slopes at Ounasvaaran Hiihtokeskus Oy, then stop by LAURI Handicraft Shop & Atelier, and finally get your bearings at Rovaniemi City Library. On the next day, examine the collection at The Finnish Labour Museum Werstas, examine the collection at Vapriikin Museokeskus, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Tampereen Tuomiokirkko, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of St. Alexander Nevsky and St. Nicholas, and finally take in panoramic vistas at Pyynikki Park and Observation Tower.

Getting from Rovaniemi to Tampere by combination of flight and train takes about 5 hours. Other options: take a train; or drive. While traveling from Rovaniemi, expect somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Tampere, ranging from highs of 45°F to lows of 33°F.
