An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Kick off your visit on the 27th (Wed): find something for the whole family at SantaPark - the Home Cavern of Santa Claus, identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas, and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Rovaniemi Church.

Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
Visiting Saariselka Ski & Sport Resort and Urho Kekkonen National Park will get you outdoors. Popular historic sites such as Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church and Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel are in your itinerary. Change things up with a short trip to Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center in Inari (about 58 minutes away). Next up on the itinerary: get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour, look for gifts at Hippupuoti Gift Shop, and see the interesting displays at Gold Prospector Museum.
