Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Museum-lovers will appreciate Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Mannerheim Museum. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Rock Church and Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali). Take a break from Helsinki with a short trip to Nuuksio National Park in Espoo, about 46 minutes away. There's lots more to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Helsinki Cathedral, take an in-depth tour of Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum, appreciate the extensive heritage of The Esplanadi Park, and wander the streets of Katajanokka.

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Start off your visit on the 8th (Wed): find something for the whole family at Santa Claus Village, identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas, and then engage your brain at Pilke Science Centre. On your second day here, Head underground at Syvasenvaara Fell, then explore the different monuments and memorials at German Soldier s Cemetery, then look for all kinds of wild species at Poro Farmi, and finally get engrossed in the history at Arktikum.

Getting from Koli National Park to Rovaniemi by car takes about 6 hours. Other options: fly. While traveling from Koli National Park, expect a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Rovaniemi, ranging from highs of 12°C to lows of 3°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Thu) to allow time to drive to Levi.
