Rovaniemi

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Santa Claus Office and Syvasenvaara Fell. Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
Explore hidden gems such as Levi Ski Resort and G2 ICEKARTING. When in Levi, make a side trip to see Jemes Sport in Yllasjarvi, approximately Yllasjarvi away. There's much more to do: join the crowd at Icekarting Levi, get interesting insight from Tours, identify plant and animal life at Santa"s Cottage & Pet Farm, and hit the slopes at Kids' Land.

Drive from Rovaniemi to Levi in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Traveling from Rovaniemi in January, plan for a bit cooler nights in Levi, with lows around -21°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Tue) to allow time to travel to Turku.

Sitting at the mouth of the Aura River, Turku is one of Finland's quaintest and most historically rich towns.
Step off the beaten path and head to Turku Castle and Bike Rental - by Carfield. Step out of Turku with an excursion to Teijo National Park in Pernio--about 1h 20 min away. There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Kylamaki Village of Living History, enjoy the sand and surf at Ispoinen Beach and Sauna, steep yourself in history at Kuusisto Manor, and stroll through The Archipelago Trail.

You can fly from Levi to Turku in 5 hours. Other options are to do a combination of flight and train; or drive. In January, Turku is somewhat warmer than Levi - with highs of -3°C and lows of -9°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 8th (Fri) so you can go by car to Helsinki.
