Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Head to Market Square Kauppatori and Hakaniemi Marketfor some retail therapy. Get some cultural insight at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Temppeliaukio Church. And it doesn't end there: glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, enjoy the sand and surf at Hietaranta Beach, get engrossed in the history at Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali).

Kuusamo is a town and municipality in Finland. Start off your visit on the 23rd (Mon): get outside with Karhunkierros and then explore the activities along Kiutakongas Rapids. Although predominately an industrial town, Imatra boasts a long and impressive history of tourism, largely owing to its fierce rapids, considered to have been Finland's first ever tourist attraction.
Kick off your visit on the 26th (Thu): take in the spiritual surroundings of Church of St. Nicholas, head off the coast to Malonsaari, then enjoy the sand and surf at Lempukka Beach, and finally head off the coast to Lammassaari Island.

Traveling by combination of flight and train from Kuusamo to Imatra takes 6.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus and train.
