An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Rovaniemi is known for wildlife, museums, and fun & games. Amsterdam, The Netherlands to Rovaniemi is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Change things up with these side-trips from Inari: Saariselka (Urho Kekkonen National Park & Saariselka Ski & Sport Resort). Spend the 5th (Mon) exploring nature at Lemmenjoki National Park. Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
Get out of town with these interesting Levi side-trips: Seven Fells Up (in Akaslompolo), Lapland Hotels SnowVillage (in Kittila) and Pallas-Yllastunturi National Park (in Muonio). Spend the 7th (Wed) on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort.
