An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Step off the beaten path and head to Forestry Museum of Lapland and Photography Tours. Santa's House of Snowmobiles and Christmas House Santa are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Change things up with these side-trips from Rovaniemi: Pentik Hill (in Posio), Kemin Jalokivigalleria (Kemi Gemstone Gallery) (in Kemi) and Museum - Gallery Alariesto (in Sodankyla). There's still lots to do: explore the world behind art at Korundi House of Culture, get lost in a book at Rovaniemi City Library, pause for some serene contemplation at Rovaniemi Church, and get curious at Pilke Science Centre.

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
Samiland and Church of Sodankyla are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Explore hidden gems such as Ounaskievari Reindeer Farm and Santa"s Cottage & Pet Farm. Change things up with a short trip to Pallas-Yllastunturi National Park in Muonio (about 58 minutes away). Next up on the itinerary: fly down the slopes at Kids' Land, browse the exhibits of LUVATTUMAA - Levi Ice Gallery, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Yllas Ski Resort.

Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
Explore hidden gems such as Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church and Reindeer Farm Petri Mattus. Get a sense of the local culture at Gold Prospector Museum and Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Saariselka: Inari (The Sami Cultural Centre Sajos & Tuula's Reindeer). Salla

Salla is a municipality of Finland, located in Lapland. Kick off your visit on the 13th (Fri): steep yourself in history at Paikanselan Taistelualue, then take an in-depth tour of Salla Museum of War & Reconstruction, and then fly down the slopes at Salla Ski Resort. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: make a trip to Joutsijarven Bunkkerit and then ski along the peaceful trails at Ski Resort Suomutunturi.
