Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
Bring the kids along to Saariselka Ski & Sport Resort and Hippupuoti Gift Shop. Get out of town with these interesting Saariselka side-trips: Inari (Reindeer Farm Petri Mattus & Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center). And it doesn't end there: get in on the family fun at Angry Birds Activity Park, get a taste of life in the country at Saariselka Reindeer Farm, see the interesting displays at Gold Prospector Museum, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel.

Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Kids will enjoy Santa Claus Village and Santa Claus Office. Venture out of the city with trips to Ranua Zoo (in Ranua) and Ski Resort Ritavalkea (in Pello). There's still lots to do: find something for the whole family at SantaPark - the Home Cavern of Santa Claus, look for gifts at Marttiini Store Old Factory, identify plant and animal life at Napapiirin Porofarmi, and don't miss a visit to Lordi's Square.
