Turku

Sitting at the mouth of the Aura River, Turku is one of Finland's quaintest and most historically rich towns.
Get some cultural insight at Turku Castle and Turku Cathedral. Your inner history buff will appreciate Old Rauma and The Church of the Holy Cross. Change things up with a short trip to Kurjenrahka National Park in Poytya (about 46 minutes away). Next up on the itinerary: wander the streets of Naantali Old Town, take a tour of Forum Marinum Maritime Centre, kick back and relax at Ispoinen Beach and Sauna, and explore the world behind art at Turku Art Museum.

For ratings, photos, maps, and tourist information, you can read our Turku attractions planning site.

Los Angeles, USA to Turku is an approximately 19-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 10 hours traveling from Los Angeles to Turku. Prepare for much colder weather when traveling from Los Angeles in September: high temperatures in Turku hover around 60°F and lows are around 44°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 10th (Mon) to allow time for the car ride to Helsinki.
