Sitting at the mouth of the Aura River, Turku is one of Finland's quaintest and most historically rich towns.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Turku Castle and Turku Cathedral. Discover out-of-the-way places like Old Rauma and Kurjenrahka National Park. Get out of town with these interesting Turku side-trips: Teijo National Park (in Pernio), Lenholm Conservation Area (in Parainen) and Tulliniemi Nature Path (in Hanko). Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Step out of the city life by going to Nuuksio National Park and Tuusulanjarvi (Lake Tuusula). Popular historic sites such as Temppeliaukion Church and Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum are in your itinerary. Explore Helsinki's surroundings by going to Laurinmaki nature and culture area, Crofter's Museum (in Janakkala), Porvoo (Cathedral of Porvoo & Porvoo Old Town) and Arboretum Mustila (in Elimaki).
